Job description:
Oak Tree Comics is hiring an artist for a picture book. The envisioned drawing style blends modern comic book imagery with the warmth and kindness of a classic picture book. Thematically, the story explores urban wildlife coexistence through humor and lots of heart.

Submissions that do not include a cover letter and a portfolio link will not be considered.
As a general policy, we ask that you do not use AI to write your cover letter or to create your art. Why? Because we want to get to know (and hire) real people—not computers!
With that in mind, as part of your cover letter, please briefly share what wildlife you enjoy seeing in your neighborhood, whether you live in a city, the suburbs, or somewhere rural.

Who can apply? Anyone! The position is remote. As we are a small team, please allow us some time to review your application. We will look to get back to all applicants within 6-8 weeks, if not sooner.
How much does Oak Tree Comics pay? As a general policy, we do not publish pay rates. Our rates are industry-competitive and will be structured as an advance against royalties.
