Oak Tree Comics is looking for a children's book illustrator with comics experience for a picture book about mindfulness and environmentalism.
The story follows best friends Sloth and Hummingbird. When Hummingbird becomes anxious when the day doesn't go as planned, both friends learn to root themselves in the present.
Thematically, the book speaks to developing mindfulness practices when dealing with anxiety.
Applicants should have:

Experience creating picture books and/or comics

An interest in stories that cover environmental and mindful themes
-
BONUS POINTS for any personal connection with the Amazonian setting

Lots of imagination!
Aesthetically, the team is picturing a textured and inviting watercolor palette reminiscent of classics like Winnie the Pooh and Frog & Toad, mixed with a modern comics sensibility.
The goal is for the imagery and illustrations to be calming and heartwarming while amplifying the mindfulness subject matter.
